Conant falls to Barrington

• Despite Dan Sotos  putting nine points on the board, the Conant Cougars lost to Barrington 39-35. On a free throw from Becker, Barrington clinched their win in the fourth quarter.
• The Conant Cougars closed out the first half 20-16 on the heels of a 10-4 run. However, it wasn't enough to overcome Barrington's 23 points in the final two quarters of the game.
• Sotos was the front runner for the Conant Cougars' offense with nine points, including four during the first period. He also contributed five rebounds.
• Also helping the effort for the Conant Cougars were Jim Sotos (6 points, 1 steal), Kyle Bradley (5 points, 1 rebound), Ryan Davis (4 points, 3 rebounds, 2 blocks), Chima Oduocha (4 points, 4 rebounds), Brandon Vinson (4 points, 1 rebound) and Jordan Hughes (3 points, 4 rebounds, 2 blocks).
• The Conant Cougars finished the game with 24 rebounds (seven offensive/17 defensive), four blocks and one steal.

Cougars beat Deerfield 43-41 in OT

• The Cougars defeated Deerfield 43-41 in overtime on Wednesday. Kyle Bradley had a put back with no time remaining. 
• The Cougars fell behind early, 17-15 by the half, but avenged their first half with solid second half. 
• Bradley paved the way for the Cougars making 67% (4-for-6) of shots attempted while also sinking 100% (4-for-4) of free throws attempted.  Bradley had a double double adding 10 rebounds.
• Also helping the effort for the Cougars were Dan Sotos(9 points, 3 rebounds, 1 steal), Jim Sotos (8 points, 3 rebounds, 1 steal), Ryan Davis (5 points, 7 rebounds, 3 blocks), Brandon Vinson (5 points, 1 rebound, 1 steal) and Chima Oduocha (2 points, 3 rebounds).
• The Cougars finished the game with 30 rebounds (13 offensive/17 defensive), three blocks and three steals.

Conant deflates Fremd 42-30

• The Conant Cougars were victorious against Fremd 42-30 on Sunday with the help of Jim Sotos, who scored 11 points.  Conant improves to 12-7 overall and 4-2 in the MSL West with this 8th victory in a row.
• Putting up a 14-9 lead at the half, the Cougars scored points early in the game. They cemented their lead in the final quarter, scoring 19 points.
• Sotos was the front runner for the Conant Cougars' offense with 11 points, including nine during the fourth period. He also contributed five rebounds.
• Also helping the effort for the Conant Cougars were Dan Sotos (7 points, 1 rebound), Ryan Davis (7 points, 2 rebounds, 1 block), Chima Oduocha (7 points, 4 rebounds), Kyle Bradley (6 points, 4 rebounds, 1 steal, 1 block), Chris Dolce (2 points, 1 rebound) and Brandon Vinson (2 points).
• The Conant Cougars finished the game with 25 rebounds (nine offensive/16 defensive), two blocks and one steal.

Conant beats Barrington 48-45

 

Chris Dolce's 15 points propelled the Conant Cougars to a 48-45 victory over Barrington on Friday. On a two-pointer from Dan Sotos, the Conant Cougars clinched their win in the fourth quarter. This in the 7th win in a row improving their record to 11-7.                          

The Conant Cougars pulled ahead early, claiming a 23-19 lead at the half. The Conant Cougars cemented their lead in the third quarter, scoring 17 points.

Dolce paved the way for the Conant Cougars, making 56% (5-for-9) of shots attempted while also sinking 100% (3-for-3) of free throws attempted.

Sotos went into double digits, scoring 13 points for the Conant Cougars (5-for-8). Also contributing for the Conant Cougars were Brandon Vinson (7 points, 2 rebounds), Jim Sotos (7 points, 2 rebounds) and Kyle Bradley (5 points, 6 rebounds, 1 steal). Jordan Hughes was a big defensive contributor as well, racking up four rebounds and three blocks.

Conant beats Palatine 56-46

Chris Dolce scored 19 points, helping the Conant Cougars notch a 56-46 victory over Palatine on Friday.  That is the Cougars 6th victory in a row making their record 10-7.

• At the end of a successful first half, the Conant Cougars led 31-17 on the strength of a 21-7 run.
• Dolce had a great game from the field, making 86% (6-for-7) of shots attempted as well as 100% (3-for-3) of threes attempted. He also shot well from the line, making 100% (4-for-4) of free throws attempted.
• The Cougars ran out to a 49-31 lead in the 2nd half.  
• Dan Sotos made it into double digits, scoring 13 points for the Conant Cougars (3-for-5). Also chipping in for the Conant Cougars were Ryan Davis (8 points, 3 rebounds), Jim Sotos (7 points, 3 rebounds), Kyle Bradley (4 points, 7 rebounds), Ben Schols (2 points) and Chima Oduocha (2 points).

Conant defeats Lake Park 61-50

The Conant Cougars were victorious against Lake Park 61-50 on Sunday with the help of four players who were in double digits.    This is the Cougars fifth win a row bringing their record to 9-7.                      

The Conant Cougars concluded the first half 28-23 on the heels of a 15-4 run. The Cougars locked in their lead in the final quarter, scoring 17 points.

Chris Dolce led the charge for the Conant Cougars's offense, scoring 15 points, with nine points during the third period. He also contributed two rebounds and three steals.

Jim Sotos hit two three-pointers and scored 11 points total. The two other players who also added ten or more points for the Conant Cougars were Dan Sotos who contributed 12 points and Kyle Bradley who put up 12 points. Also contributing for the Conant Cougars were Brandon Vinson (7 points, 1 rebound) and Chima Oduocha (2 points, 2 rebounds).

Bradley was a big defensive contributor as well, racking up seven rebounds, one steal and one block.

The Cougars were 13-15 from the free throw line.

The Conant Cougars finished the game with 27 rebounds (seven offensive/20 defensive), five blocks and five steals.
