Conant falls to Rockford Auburn in Super Sectional

• Conant fell to Rockford Auburn in Tuesday's Super Sectional at the Sears Centre, 57-43, despite Brandon Vinson putting 11 points on the scoreboard.
• Despite a strong finish, with 14 points in the final quarter, Cougars failed to secure the win.
• Vinson was the front runner for Conant's offense with 11 points, including eight during the second period. He also contributed two rebounds.
• Ben Schols put up two three-pointers and scored 10 points total. Also contributing for Conant were Jimmy Sotos (9 points, 5 rebounds, 1 block), Ryan Davis (6 points, 5 rebounds, 1 steal), and Mike Downing (5 points, 5 rebounds, 1 block).

Conant defeats Lake Zurich to win Sectional Championship

• Conant was victorious against Lake Zurich 59-48 in OT to win the Sectional Champuonship at Fremd on Friday. Conant advances to Tuesday's Super Sectional at the Sears Centre at 8:00 pm. They will play Rockford Auburn. 
• The Cougars pulled ahead early, claiming a 16-11 lead at the half. 
• Ryan Davis led Conant's offense with 18 points, including eight during the fourth period. He also contributed seven rebounds and one block.
• Two other players also scored in the double digits for Conant. Jimmy Sotos contributed 16 points.  Ben Schols put up two three-pointers and scored 13 points total. Also chipping in for Conant were Brandon Vinson (9 points, 3 rebounds, 3 steals) and Mike Downing (2 points, 3 rebounds, 2 blocks).  Sotos was a big defensive contributor as well, racking up three rebounds, three steals and two blocks.
• Conant  finished the game with 24 rebounds (5 offensive / 19 defensive), five blocks and nine steals.

The Cougars improved their record to 23-6.

Cougars advance to Sectional Final with win over Hoffman Estates

• Conant was victorious against Hoffman Estates 60-47 on Tuesday with the help of Jimmy Sotos, who scored 18 points.  The Cougars advance to the Sectional Championship on Friday at Fremd versus the winner of Wednesday nights Fremd - Lake Zurich match up.
• Cougars grabbed the lead against Hoffman Estates on a free throw from Ryan Davis in the second period and held on.
• With a 25-21 lead at the half, Conant pulled ahead early in the game. With 25 points in the fourth quarter, Conant solidified their lead. 
• Sotos led the charge for Conant's offense, scoring 18 points, with seven points during the fourth period. He also contributed three rebounds and six steals.
• Davis went into double digits, scoring 14 points for Conant (5-for-11). Also contributing for Conant were Ben Schols (9 points, 3 rebounds, 1 block), Brandon Vinson (9 points, 4 rebounds, 1 steal), Mike Downing (8 points, 6 rebounds, 2 blocks), and C.J. Deshazer (2 points).

Conant defeats Elk Grove to win the Regional Championship

• Conant emerged victorious 47-27 against Elk Grove on Friday to win the Conant Regional Championship.  Conant was led by the strength of Jimmy Sotos, who scored 20 points. The Cougars improved their record to 21-6 and will play Hoffman Estates, the Schaumburg Regional Champion, on Tuesday at 7:00 at the Fremd Sectional Semi-Final.
• After an impressive 20-4 run, Cougars ended the first half in the lead with a score of 28-11. 
• Sotos found success all over the court for Conant, making 56% (5-for-9) of shots attempted while also sinking 90% (9-for-10) of free throws attempted.
• Ryan Davis hit double digits, scoring 10 points for Conant (4 for 12). Also helping the effort for Conant were Chima Oduocha (5 points, 6 rebounds, 1 block), Brandon Vinson (5 points, 1 rebound), C.J. Deshazer (4 points), and Mike Downing ( 2 points, 5 rebounds, 4 blocks).

Conant defeats Rolling Meadows to advance to Regional Final

• Conant emerged victorious 60-37 against Rolling Meadows on Tuesday in the Conant Regional Semi Final on the strength of Jimmy Sotos, who scored 23 points. The Cougars will Friday night in the Regional Championship versus the winner of Palatine and Elk Grove who will play Wednesday night.
• Following a 21-5 run, Cougars commanded a 31-20 lead at the end of the first half. 
• Sotos had a great game from the field, making 80% (8-for-10) of shots attempted as well as 100% (4-for-4) of threes attempted. He also shot well from the line, making 43% (3-for-7) of free throws attempted.
• Ben Schols hit four three-pointers and scored 12 points total. Also contributing for Conant were Mike Downing (9 points, 5 rebounds), C.J. Conant defeats Prospect to win the MSL Championship

• Conant emerged victorious 41-35 against Prospect on Wednesday to win the MSL Championship.  The Cougars improved their record to 19-6.
• The Cougars were led by Jimmy Sotos who scored 22 points.
• Claiming an 18-14 lead at the half, Cougars put up points early in the game. 
• Sotos paved the way for Conant, making 73% (8-for-11) of shots attempted while also sinking 100% (5-for-5) of free throws attempted.
• Ben Schols put two three-pointers on the board and scored seven points total. Also helping the effort for Conant were Ryan Davis (9 points, 4 rebounds, 1 steal) and Chima Oduocha (2 points, 3 rebounds).

Conant claims MSL West Championship with win over Hoffman Estates

• The Conant Cougars made a short trip to Hoffman Estates High School and came back with the MSL West Division Title.  Conant emerged victorious 35-31 against Hoffman Estates on Friday on the strength of Jimmy Sotos, who scored 18 points.  The Cougars locked in the win in the fourth quarter on a two-pointer from Sotos.  Conant will host MSL East Division Champion Prospect on Wednesday night for the Mid Suburban League Conference Championship.
• Conant fell behind early, trailing 15-14 by the half, only to come back hard in the final two quarters. With 13 points, Conant added to their lead in the final quarter with momentum from a 12-2 run. 
• Sotos led the charge for Conant's offense, scoring 18 points, with nine points during the fourth period. He also contributed four rebounds and six steals.

Conant defeats St. Patricks 48-41

• Ryan Davis scored 17 points, helping Conant notch a 48-41 victory over St. Patrick on Tuesday. On a three-pointer from Brandon Vinson, Cougars secured their lead in the third quarter.  The Cougars improved their record to 17-6.
• Conant came back forcibly in the final two quarters, after being behind early in the game, trailing 23-22 at the half.
• Davis paved the way for Conant, making 50% (6-for-12) of shots attempted while also sinking 100% (5-for-5) of free throws attempted.

Conant falls to Fremd

• Jimmy Sotos scored 21 points, but this was not enough as Conant fell to Fremd 54-38. Fremd grabbed the lead against Cougars on a two-pointer from Brian Dompke in the second period and held on.
• Conant and Fremd were tied up at 18-18 at the half, but Fremd gained the momentum needed during the final two quarters. Even though Conant added 12 points in the final quarter, they failed to make a comeback.

Mike Downing's 17 points propelled Conant to 60-45 victory over Glenbrook North on Saturday. The Cougars improved their record to 16-5.

• With an 18-point first quarter, Cougars pulled ahead early on the strength of a 9-2 run, eventually claiming a 30-24 lead by halftime. 
• Downing led Conant offense with 17 points, including six during the first period. He also contributed seven rebounds and three blocks.
• Danny Ranallo put up three three-pointers and scored 11 points total. Three other players also added ten or more points for Conant.  Ryan Davis added 14 points and Jimmy Sotos put up 11 points. Also helping the effort for Conant were C.J. Deshazer (2 points, 4 rebounds, 2 steals) and Chima Oduocha (2 points, 1 rebound, 1 steal).

Conant beats Schaumburg 48-37

Conant emerged victorious 48-37 against Schaumburg on Friday on the strength of Jimmy Sotos who scored 14 points.  Cougars sealed their victory in the fourth quarter on a free throw from Sotos.  The Cougars improved their record to 15-5 and 8-0 in the MSL West.  With the victory, the Cougars clinched at least a share of the MSL West Title with two games remaining in conference play.

• On the heels of an 18-5 run, Conant led 20-11 at the half.  Conant solidified their lead in the final quarter, scoring 21 points. 

• Sotos was the leader of Conant's offense with 14 points, including 10 during the fourth period. He also contributed seven rebounds, two steals and one block.

• Ryan Davis went into double digits, scoring 13 points for Conant (6-for-9). Also chipping in for Conant were Brandon Vinson (7 points, 3 rebounds), Danny Ranallo (6 points, 4 rebounds), Mike Downing (5 points, 2 rebounds), and Chima Oduocha 2 points, 2 rebounds, 1 block).

Cougars defeat Lancers 55-51

• Conant were victorious against Lake Park 55-51 on Tuesday with the help of C.J. Deshazer who scored 11 points.  Deshazer helped Cougars take the lead for good with a three-pointer in the third quarter.  The Cougars improved their record to 14-5.
• Conant got behind early in the game, trailing 27-22 by the half, only to come back forcibly in the final two quarters. With 20 points in the final quarter, Conant hada solid finish. 
• With a field goal percentage of 60% (3-for-5), Deshazer had a great game from the field, also sinking 100% (3-for-3) of threes attempted.

• Though Cougars finished strong, adding 18 points in the final quarter, it wasn't enough to turn things around.

• Jimmy Sotos scored 14 points to lead Conant to a 55-52 victory over Palatine on Friday.  Cougars clinched their lead in the fourth quarter on a free throw from Sotos. Conant improved their record to 13-4 and 7-0 in the MSL West.
• Following an 11-4 run, Conant commanded a 29-28 lead at the end of the first half.

Conant emerged victorious 68-41 against Barrington on Saturday on the strength of Jimmy Sotos, who scored 24 points.  Cougars grabbed the lead against Barrington on a three-pointer from Sotos in the second period and held on.  Conant improved to 12-4 and 6-0 in the MSL West.

• An impressive 23-point second quarter on the strength of a 22-5 run allowed Conant to pull ahead and eventually claim a 39-27 lead by halftime.

• At the end of a successful first half, Cougars led 27-12 on the strength of a 20-4 run.
